About the project

I co-directed the Amuleto video with Michelle Gualda, which won Best Direction 2023 at the Prisma Awards.
The clip weaves athletic fantasy, sweat, a medical checkup, and the act of letting yourself fall — visual scenes heavy with desire, gravity, and sensuality in a dreamlike aesthetic.
Javiera plays a doctor who evokes erotic fantasies, while Marilina embodies the tension between intimacy and anticipation.
More than a song, Amuleto is a visual gesture that reveals fleeting fantasies and suspended possibility.
Tiempo Argentino described the video as “a story of desire in the form of a pop ballad,” celebrated for its sensuality and introspective tone. (tiempoar.com.ar)
Meanwhile, La Izquierda Diario highlighted it as “one of the first Latin American music videos starring two openly lesbian artists.” (laizquierdadiario.com)
Beyond its narrative, Amuleto is a visual manifesto — about desire, vulnerability, and the quiet strength of letting yourself fall.

About the artist

Marilina Bertoldi stands as one of the most powerful and influential voices in contemporary Latin American rock.
A bold advocate for freedom and embodiment, she became the first openly lesbian woman to win Argentina’s Gardel de Oro, redefining representation and visibility within the country’s music scene.
In Amuleto, she joins forces with Javiera Mena, the Chilean queer-pop pioneer whose electronic sensibility and lyrical candor made her an icon of sexual diversity across Latin America.
Together, they form a symbolic alliance between two generations of lesbian artists who transform desire into discourse and visibility.
